Columbus, Ohio (July 24, 2007)
— Emerson Network Power,
a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the global leader
in enabling Business-Critical
Continuity™,
today introduced two new products designed to increase
the flexibility and availability
of communications among data center support
systems.
The Liebert vNSA network
switch allows multiple Ethernet-ready devices to
communicate and function as
a team, while the Liebert SiteLink-E provides a
communications
link between existing building management systems and
Liebert precision cooling
and AC and DC power systems.
“Critical space monitoring is becoming a vital
tool to help data center
managers gain necessary insight into the availability,
reliability and emerging
needs
of their data centers, “ said Tom McNamara,
product manager, Liebert
monitoring, Emerson Network Power. “The
Liebert vNSA and Liebert SiteLink-E
are advanced monitoring technologies designed with an
ease-of-installation
and flexibility
to allow data center managers to choose and quickly
install the solution
that best meets their needs.”
When equipped with a Liebert iCOM display,
the Liebert vNSA permits interconnecting cooling units
to work together and
facilitates lead/lag operation. It is
available in four models, with some featuring an
embedded Liebert iCOM display,
that
support from four to 13 connected units. The switch
supports twisted-pair
RJ45 CAT5 network
cables and features auto-negotiation, auto-polarity and
auto-crossing, eliminating
the need for crossover cables.
The Liebert vNSA is encased within a lockable,
metal enclosure that can be mounted on the wall or
under the floor. Because
of its secure enclosure,
the switch can
be used in a variety of applications to ensure
availability of connected
network equipment. For example, on a new
construction site, contractors can
use the
Liebert vNSA to bring up a network without having to
wait for a computer
room to be completed.
The Liebert SiteLink-E is an Ethernet-Ready device
designed
to communicate with a wide-range of Liebert precision
cooling units, UPS systems,
and power
distribution
units. The product can be plugged directly into the
Ethernet, which makes
start-up easier and less costly. Information may be
routed via a BACnet,
Modbus or LONWorks™ network
to a Building Automation System (BAS) workstation. It is
available in three
models that can communicate with up to 12 different
pieces of equipment.
The Liebert
SiteLink-E supports all Liebert protocols and can be
mounted on the wall
or the floor.
